In our first Discover post, we explored the only kids indoor play restaurant in the Downtown Los Angeles area, the Lemon Tree Kids and Family Restaurant.
My kid is 7 and on the older side for this restaurant and nonetheless she was in heaven. She ran into the play area, made friends and entertained herself until we called her for pizza.
This is a place a mom can go and get a good quality strong latte (big bonus in my book) and watch their child play. There is a bounce house, a climbing gym, an operational train and for those calmer moments a well stocked reading nook. At one point, balloon animals were made and handed out. It's a fun place for kids.
The food was delicious too. We ate the different sounding sweet potato stuffed chicken vegetable pizza and it was good! When I asked if they had a lower sugar version lemonade, they brought an honest juice for my kid (thank you!). The food ranged from plain jane pizza to Korean dishes.
You have to remove your shoes and wear socks, though slippers are provided. Use the slippers. The floor is not the cleanest as you can imagine with kids running around. They did come and mop up under our table as soon as I pointed out it was wet. The bathrooms need a good paint job but are functional.
The atmosphere was casual and diverse, which is always a good testament to a good restaurant. There were moms taking a mental break with their kids, large family groups having lunch and even a small birthday party going on.
The restaurant is set up for events and large birthday parties.
